There were 25 lambs and plenty of cider.
LA SIDRA.- Summer is coming and once again and for eighth time Menéndez Cider Mill invited all its customers to enjoy the already traditional espicha or traditional cider meeting. They celebrated the good weather with their three products: Sidra Menéndez, la DOP Val d’Ornón and Llagar de Quintana. The celebration begun at seven and cars and coaches arrived to their facilities in Fano – Xixón- where tehey prepared 25 lambs in stake, two hams and sausages before the big dish.
Attendees could also visit some parts of the cider mill and know the wooden casks and the stainless steel ones. There was non stop cider all through. “This is a gift for our customers, there are some of them that don’t know the cider mill yet and it’s a good way to show it” explained for this magazine Gerardo Menéndez.
The lamb was perfect, and afterwards the raisin in the cake -apart of the proper cakes like carbayones and casadielles- there was the performance of Moraida and David. A great celebration to maintain the traditions of espicha among the Asturian people.
