The prestigious cider festival awarded for the very first time in 130 years, a Gold Medal to an Asturian cider.
LA SIDRA.- Last edition of the Internacional Cider Awards took place in London on March in the area of Burton upon Trent, and in this event beers and ciders from 20 different countries are awarded. Among them, the cider M. Busto by Mayador cider mill got the Gold Medal in the category of dry natural cider, highlighting in the score given by 45 judges composing this jury. They assessed it as a “natural cider with fresh aromas with a little bit of lime, lemon and weed. In the taste there are well integrated tones of elegant sour, a good body, long in mouth and resembles of citrics that make of it a delicate and refreshing cider”.
The internationalization of Asturian cider is allowing us to increase each time more our presence in all kinds of international contests and festivals where it used to be unknown -except for sparkling cider-, being now a surprise for its quality and unique identity, reaching thus the deserved imternational recognition.
Now, all the ciders awarded with a Gold Medal -Mayador among them- get to the maximum award, which is to be “World’s Best Cider”, to be announced on next 26yh of April at the London Guidahall, the building which used to be London’s town hall for centuries.
