The founder of the mythical cider bar, Luis Díaz Fernández died yesterday in Uviéu aged 92.
THE CIDER.- The founder of the oldest cider bar in Gascona, El Ferroviario, opened in 1951, died yesterday in Uviéu after feeling bad the week before when he was at the cider bar, which he did not manage any more but continued to visit usually to see friends and customers.
From the restaurant sector they defined him as “indisputable reference in the cider sector of Uviéu” and Paco Colunga, head of the Cider District, qualified him as “precursor of Gascona”, adding that “his step continues to live on”.
The funeral will be held this afternoon in San Tirso.
