From the 15th to 17th of April Mieres will be the reference for traditional music and cider, giving away more than 2.000 cider liters.
THE CIDER.- La Folixa na Primavera keeps groeing year by year with a very interesting offer that puts together music, traditional dance, gastronomy and plenty of cider. The program will begin on Friday 15th with the opening of the cider casks offered by the Brotherhood San Bartolomé de Baiña. They expect to givbe away more than 2.000 cider liters only for the purchase of the glass for € 2,5. This year the glass is carved with a design of the poster by Alfredo Casasola.
In this Folixa na Primavera the opening speech will be made by the journalist Luis Gancedo and then Juan Alfonso Fernández, director of the Bagpipe Museum of Xixón will get the Fini Suarez Prize for folk research.
Among the greatmusical offer of this event we have to highlight the wolrdwide presentation in Mieres of the last album by Gwendal with almost half a century of history of this band, who presents a live album to reach the stores in May. Apart of this Gwendal gig there will be also the performances of the bands “La Tarrancha”, “Caliorne” and “Spanta la Xente”
