Carmen Fernández: “The Asturian Government refuses its duty to empower cider while the sector struggles day by day to increase the production”.
LA SIDRA.-Foro’s deputy and spokeswoman of Rural Development in Principality’s General Board, Carmen Fernández attended the 2017 campaign presentation on 20th of this month. There she gave her congratulations to the cider sector while stating that the Asturian Government “refuses its duty to empower cider while the sector struggles day by day to increase the production”.
Among the statements of the Councilwoman, she highlighted that “the Councilwoman of Rural Development has to explain what measures is going to take since the Asturian Government is always late regarding cider promotion. For instance there is a parlamentary initiative for Cider of Asturies launched by Foro and approved on last November but still unfulfilled seven months after that”.
“Cider is heritage of every Asturian person -said Carmen Fernández- so all of us would like to know this Government’s proposals about it. Therefore we highlight the need of a Promotion Plan for Asturian cider and this way make clear that their fulfill their promises and stick to their word”.
“Asturian Government sees how other communities go ahead of us in promotion and sales while ones struggling with effort are the harvesters and cider makers,it is necessary an impulse from the Administration” stated Fernández.
