The online publication Cider Culture mentions the Asturian Perry.
LA SIDRA.- Perry, for those who might not know, is the cider made from pears. This is the beverage of fermented pear juices, and it is known worldwide for its amazing variety.
Viuda De Angelon Sidra de Pera, together with the American E.Z. Orchads’ Poire, AeppelTreow Winery’s Perry and Eve’s Cidery’s Perry Pear, is considered one of the fourth best pear ciders by the web.
They point out that many Asturian ciders are famous for high levels of acidity and how well they complement the regional Asturian cuisine. In their own words, Viuda de Angelon Sidra de Pera smells like berries, fresh ripe pears and a bit of that classic tartness.
This is a bubbly one with some sweetness, but the floral notes are as distinct as they are unusual. Its mildness and balanced floral and tropical fruit notes are very pleasant.
They also suggest to pair it with a summery salad with heirloom tomatoes and fresh sweet corn or a green salad topped with squash and roasted kohlrabi.
