Nava’s Cider Festival.
LA SIDRA.- Villaviciosa has been the great winner of the Best Apple Cider and Derivatives Contest Made in Asturies. On July 3rd, the jury ruled the Best Natural Table Cider, the Best Natural Sparkling Cider, the Best Ice Cider, the Best Apple Appetizer, and the Best Cider Vinegar. The tasting took place at the Llagar de Sorribes Sociocultural Center.
Thus, Valle, Ballina and Fernández, Red Grape and El Gaitero Natural have been recognized, respectively, the title of Best Dry Fum Cider, Best Pink Cider and Best Cider of New Expression. In addition, as Best Appetizer won Roxmut by Castañón Cider Mill; and as Best Ice Cider, Hibernis, by Hermanos Martínez Sopeña.
Outside of Villaviciosa, Camín Cider Mill from Xixón was awarded the title of Best Heterogeneous Sparkling Cider and La Naveta de Paca y Tola (Nava) won its 1/3 format competitors.
Still to know what is the best natural cider made in Asturies, though. Today the jury vote will be held in the same place as the previous test, in the Llagar de Sorribes
