The collection group from Xixón exhibits in the Old Institute labels, stamps and postal history related to the Asturian beverage, cider.
THE CIDER.- The courtyard of the Old Institute of Xixón exposes until September 19 the XXVII Philatelic Days. This year the collecting group has chosen Asturian Cider Culture as its main theme. One way to support, they point out, her candidacy for Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The exhibition consists of one hundred panels, of which almost 20% are dedicated to cider (labels, old documents, curiosities, advertising, among more elements of interest). All this assembled by true collectors, so that the visitor can capture that cider has been an important part of Asturian society for more than a century.
Also next Thursday, September 12 at 7:00 p.m., the Philatelic and Numismatic Group of Xixón, responsible for the exhibition, has scheduled the conference ‘Retrospective and challenges of the Apple and the cider of Asturies’ which will be given by Celestino Cortina, President of the Regulatory Council of the PDO Sidra de Asturias.
