565 photographs from 28 different countries participated, the event reaches its eighth edition with a large international representation of countries such as Germany, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, United Kingdom or Vietnam.
THE CIDER.- The die is cast. Tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. the jury of the ‘La Sidra 2020 Photography Contest’ will issue its ruling. This contest that grows year by year and has established itself as one of the most important in Asturies. “The truth is that we are very happy. More 565 photographs of 175 participants and from 28 different countries have been registered. It is a contest that is increasing. Now we just need the jury to assess the quality of the images, but in principle the contest has been more moved than on previous occasions ”said the president of the Court Luis José Vigil-Escalera.
The participating countries are: Germany, Argentina, Bangladesh, Brazil, Colombia, Croatia, Cuba, United Arab Emirates, Slovenia, Spain, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, Myanmar, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine and Vietnam.
The contest is called by the LA SIDRA magazine and the Asturies XXI Foundation; It is sponsored by the Llagar JR and organized by Asemeyando Photographic Association. The jurors are the teacher of Cislan Verónica González Maganto; Carlos Suárez Alonso, vice president of Asemeyando; and Luis José Vigil-Escalera, president of the Asturian Federation of Photography. Subsequently, the winners who have obtained recognition will be notified, and from that moment, the jury’s decision will be announced to the public.
The awards consist of:
Winning image with € 700 in cash and gold from CEF
1st second prize with € 200 in cash and CEF silver medal
2nd second prize with € 100 in cash and CEF bronze medal
Special mention ‘Sidra JR’ equipped with two cases of that cider for the best photo in relation to said cider mill and / or its products.
