LA SIDRA.- The Asturian popular culture will once again be the main protagonists of Asturies’ Day, which this weekend will have Casu as the nerve center of the celebration. And when talking about popular culture, of course the cider will be more than present. On Saturday a masterclass of cider pouring and an exhibition of champions has been scheduled. In addition, in the Pumarada de la Torre, the Sample and traditional workshops will be located. On the other hand, the traditional market and the Fair of Asturian products will be installed in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento and in the Plaza del Mercado.
The festive weekend will open on Friday the concert of Anabel Santiago in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento. The performance of Rodrigo Cuevas will take place on Saturday, and that of Petit Pop on Sunday. The Turón Mining Coro, Luis Núñez and the Folganzanes -yes, those of ‘Dame un culín collaciu’-, and the tonada concerts of the Association of Asturian Song Interpreters (AICA) and the Association of Song and Folklore Valle del Nalón, complete the musical offer of the program. The folklore show will feature the performance of the Grupu Folclóricu Blimea and the Banda de Gaitas Garulla, which will also animate Caso with parades during the two days.
As for activities in equipment, Casu will open to the public during the two days, free of charge and with guided tours with limited places, the Church of Tañes, the Museum of Beekeeping, the Museum of Wood and the Interpretation Center of the Natural Park of Networks And there will also be sports starring the Guimarán Rural Sports Club, Monte Areo Team – interviewed in this magazine -, and the Rural Sport Group 6 concejos.
