Yesterday, Monday 6, took place the first of the two presentations that will be made of the VIII International Exhibition of the Ciders of Gala (SISGA) within the programming of the Interceltic Festival of An Oriant (Lorient, Breizh).
The chosen environment was the Asturies pavilion, where many visitors could get to know the details of the event and try the best cider that won prizes in this prestigious international event. While the best Asturian ciders were represented by the cider mills Castañón, Cortina, Riestra, La Naveta, Mayador and Viuda de Angelón, cider lovers also learned what differences are between these ciders and those of other countries, besides the programming of the SISGA.
Apart from a very good selection of natural cider, natural DOP, sparkling, ice and cider vermouth, Asturian cider was set along ciders from seven other countries (United Kingdom, France, Germany, Luxembourg and the United States, among many others). The delegation of LA SIDRA and the Asturies XXI Foundation, organizing entity of the event, offered tasting notes and details about the participating cider mills, to which they had to add more cider brought for the presentation by several producers of the Interceltic Festival. From here we want to thank the cider Apple Slayer from Cornwall and Kystin from Brittany for their contribution. Wse are sure that we will see them again in this edition of the SISGA in Xixón.
The next appointment is this Wednesday 8 in the Asturies pavilion here, in An Oriant, and it is expected that members of the international press, the organization of the festival, responsible for the delegations and all cider lovers who were eager to learn more about our event and the Asturian culture of cider will attend. This event is organized as a collaboration with the Asturies pavilion and Jesús Adrián Rodriguez Álvarez, who has the support of the Tourism Boureau of Asturies.
In this way, Asturies reaffirmed its role as a Celtic nation and ambassador of the cider culture, both ours and international.
