The place chosen for the jury meeting that will award the prestigious SISGA Awards will be Llagar Castañón. A firm that is in luck since, only this year, it has won with its brand ascribed to the Protected Designation of Origin, Val de Boides, two of the most important cider festivals in the country: the one that takes place in Nava and the one that takes place in Villaviciosa.
The jury will be composed of an international tribunal from the participants, as well as professionals from the sector and specialists in this drink. Among the countries that will be counted in this International Hall of Gala Ciders are France, Germany, Latvia, Italy, United States, Holland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Finland or Poland, as well as having representation from other territories of the Spanish state as Euskadi or León.
The cider will pass a double filter, in the first one a first selection of the cider will be made and the classified ones will be valued by an official jury, of recognized and proven prestige and independence.
The judges will carry out a blind tasting of the presented ciders and will give them a score. The contest will be divided into different categories: brut cider, sparkling sweet, sparkling semi-dry, pink, made with other fruits, small bottle bottle, dry or semi-dry table, liqueurs, cider or aperitifs. This is how wide is the range of products that are being released to the market, and hence the need to value them all in the class that corresponds to them.
