Angry Orchad, MillerCoors, Strongbow and Bold Rock are just a few of the brands following the rose trend.
LA SIDRA.- Rosé cider is inspired by the light and fruity elements of a rose wine and made with red fleshed apples that give it a bright taste and colour.
Just in time for warmer weather a number of companies are launching rosé hard cider following rosé wine popularity on social media sites like Instagram.
This way, Angry Orchad’s is made from six different apple varieties, including red flesh apple which gives the beverage its flavour and distinctive colour, as well as a hint of hibiscus.
And MillerCoors, Strongbow and Bold Rock’s rosé ciders have an apple base, but also include ingredients like pears and rose petals.
Among the Asturian rosé ciders we find the ones awarded at the IHGC’ 17: La Naveta Roxa from Paca y Tola, Pomar Rossé from Viuda de Angelón and Mayador Rossé, with gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
Rosé beverages sales have grown dramatically in the last months, so cider producers are taking advantage of this trend. Their colour, known as “millenial pink” is associated to luxury and youth.
