LA SIDRA.- The Regional Service for Agro-Food Research and Development –Serida–, and the Ministry of Rural Development, Agro-livestock and Fisheries of the Principality of Asturias, organize the ‘Day of pruning and winter care in apple cider orchards’, which It will be held on Friday, February 28, in Villaviciosa.
The day consists of an exhibition part, which will be held at the San Juan del Capistrano Cultural Center from 9:30 am, and a practical part, which will take place in the experimental plots of the Serida where pruning will take place.
The program will address issues of interest to apple cider producers, such as fertilization and maintenance of lines, phytosanitary protection, specific actions in new plantations, pruning training and fruiting.
This day will be developed by the Fruit Program team, coordinated by researcher Enrique Dapena de la Fuente.
