The product of a 15 year friendship between the Neufeld brothers and Willms brothers.
LA SIDRA.- It all starts at a summer camp in 1998, where four boys with a lot of beverage experience meet and end up opening a new cidery in Ontario in 2017.
John and Charles Neufeld’s family owned a winery, while Luke and Mark Willms’ parents had developed a charitable organization involving Ugandan coffee production. So a new beverage-related company was destinated for them. And it was a cidery.
In the autumn of 2016, Luke and Mark began picking apples form their parents’ small orchad, until they officially canned their first cider batch last August.
Created by taking the roads less travelled, Overlander is a refreshing cider with no added sugar, so it is slowly fermented completely dry for over two months.
The cidery takes its name from the idea of using the tools you have been given and creating your own path. It is about enjoying the journey, not just the destination.
As they say, we are all “overlanders”, because at the end of the day we are all trying to find ourselves.
