The Swedish store carries out a week of activities with the Asturian fruit and cider as its central axis, tomorrow the III Apple Snack Contest will take place.
LA SIDRA.- For the tenth consecutive year, IKEA Asturies celebrates the Apple Week, which is organized until December 8. “It is a cultural event through which the company develops different activities with the aim of uniting the Swedish culture with the Asturian through a common and relevant product for both cuisines, the apple” they explain.
In this year’s edition, the IKEA store in Asturies has been inspired by different Asturian and Swedish traditions to organize a dozen activities aimed at different audiences. In this way, throughout the week will be workshops, showcookings, tastings, live music and children’s activities, to pay tribute once again the figure of the apple and its role in each of the cultures.
The activities will have the participation of some of the most significant representatives in the field of gastronomy and Asturian entertainment, such as the Technical Professor of Cooking and Professional Pastry of the Principality of Asturias, Rubén Díaz; the ex-competitor of Masterchef Junior, Covadonga; or the author of the blog “My Sweet Carrot Cake”, Reyes de Vicente.
There will also be the 3rd Edition of the “Pincho de Manzana” Contest, a gastronomic competition aimed at cooking enthusiasts. IKEA Asturias has been receiving different recipes during the last days, so that the five finalists will compete on December 5 at 5:00 p.m. by making their dish live at the restaurant on the first floor of IKEA Asturias, in front of the visitors that wish to accompany them. The prizes will be delivered on promotional cards of between 500 and 100 euros.
