III Cider Days in Pimiangu

It will consist of a traditional espicha where the producers and ciderloverswill enjoy a tasting of the local production.

LA SIDRA.- On June 30, starting at 8:00 p.m., Pimiangu -Ribedeva- will celebrate its third edition of the Xornada de la Sidre (Cider Days) where they hope to have all the cidermakers of the town, as well as a sample of the cider produced in the most important llagares of the East of Asturies: cider Valleoscuru de Tresgrandas, Cabañon from Nava, the Cuchareru from Nueva and Pamirandi from Asiegu.

The presentation of the Conference will be borne by the Sierense Friends of the Apple Club (CSAM), which will discuss aspects of the development of cider, current trends and care and control of the process. Thus fulfilling one of the objectives of the Days is to improve knowledge of cider and Asturian cider culture.

The tasting and evaluation of the local ciders will be carried out by D. Severino Cuevas, recognized jury of homemade cider competitions.

It is also planned, within the Days, to realize a twinning with other producers of traditional cider, this year with Pañeda Nueva -Siero-, for their repeated support to Pimiangu and especially to this Days. They try in this way to unite two villages of similar characteristics and tradition in the production of artisanal cider.

On this day we will be accompanied by the Choir Santa Apolonia de Pañeda that will entertain us with a sample of Asturian songs, recalling the cider bar songs.

For the success of the Days, it is counted on the collaboration of the neighbors, with the contribution of delicacies and homemade desserts, tortillas and empanadas.
