First anniversary of the Restaurant-Cider Bar El Fontan, in Alcobendas.
LA SIDRA.- Cider is a trend. And Asturian restaurants, too. The number of this kind of establishments opened outside Asturias attests to this.
Cider bar El Fontan opened a year ago in the north of Madrid with alluring offers and the best products of the Asturian cuisine in a district full of restaurants.
Juan Martinez Descalza, chef and owner from Oviedo, tells the secret of their success in an interview to the radio station Onda Cero as something based on their excellent product and specialities.
The “cachopo” (two breaded steaks stuffed with ham and cheese in its traditional version) in its five varieties, heirloom cheeses, fabes (broad beans) and gastronomic offers turns the restaurant into a perfect place to enjoy the best of the Asturian land in the north area of Madrid.
Apart from offering grilled platters every Thursday, they have also participated in the cachopo sessions in November and they have recently held their beef and ox red meat sessions.
It is worth stressing that it is one of the few cider bars in Madrid that offers different cider brands, as they serve Peñon, Cortina, Trabanco and Viuda de Angelon.
