Julián Gutierrez Villota, the “Cider’s Tsar” leads the cider promotion in this country.
LA SIDRA.- A trip to England in 2010 is the beginning of a growing business in Colombia, which starts with the setting up of Great British Ciders by this Colombia District University engineer.
After tasting it and wondering where this drink has been before, he came back to his country with the idea of creating an English cider importing company, which currently gets nearly 30,000 cider units that are mainly distributed in Bogota, Medellín, Cartagena and Barranquilla.
Not long ago they also opened The Cider House, first bar specialized in cider in Latin America, where you can taste English cider on Fridays and Saturdays.
Likewise, you can also obtain it at the Usaquen Flea Market on Sundays.
