The international conferences on Industrial Heritage will be held from September 24 to 29
THE CIDER.- The Association of Industrial Archeology INCUNA will hold from September 24 to 29 days in which the main topics of Industrial Heritage will be discussed nationally and internationally. In addition to the large number of talks and lectures around this subject, around 20 documentaries and films will also be presented at the II Cinema Show on Cultural Heritage and Cultural Landscapes.
It will be attended by more than 200 people, from fifteen countries: heritage defense associations, cultural and tourism managers, businessmen, officials and administration technicians, students, workers, engineers, architects, geographers, historians, economists, among more professionals, who are aware of the importance of preserving, disseminating, activating and valuing industrial historical heritage and cultural landscapes in their different facets.
In these days, INCUNA joins the support of the candidacy of the Asturian Cider Culture for Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, with the screening of the film “Bellezas de Asturias” (Beauties of Asturies), presented at the Film Show by Juan Carlos from Madrid. This silent documentary, made between 1918 and 1922 by José Pons Girbau and José María Maristany, was commissioned by Valle, Ballina and Fernández in order to advertise El Gaitero cider in this country and America. The film shows the production process of cider in those years. From this material the film Beauties of Asturies was composed, one of the numerous pioneer actions of the Asturian company in the advertising field.
