Both producers and cidermakers agree that this is a record year due to the quantity and quality of our apples.
LA SIDRA.- This season, the Asturian harvest is being dramatic. Over 100 apple varieties from the Asturian orchads will be used to produce the DOP Asturian Cider.
This is due to the exceptional weather conditions which guarantee a harvest even better than the so-regarded historical one in 2015, with 3,769,754 apples picked up.
Blanquina, Raxao, Regona, Durona de Tresalis and Collaos are some of the apple varieties which will reach our palate as Certificate of Origin Cider of Asturias.
It is essential that the DOP consumers understand that they are not only buying a product of the highest quality, but tradition, backing the rural environment and the Asturian landscape conservation.
