A day to learn about cider from around the world at the SISGA Open Tasting

The Tasting Open to the Public of the International Hall of Gala Ciders, with more than 200 cider products from all over the world, arrives after a very intense cider day in which the jury choosed the best ciders in the world, Xixón received the mayors of the most cidery cities in the world, the ciders from Portugal, Lithuania, Latvia and Madeira were presented, and the cider makers and cider bars of the city were visited

Finally comes the awaited day when all Asturians will be able to taste the international cider: the Cider Tasting Open to the Public, one of the key days of the SISGA, in which cider makers from all over the world and Asturian cider makers will present their products to the public.

This day offers the possibility of knowing the existing cider offer worldwide and attendees will not only taste the products presented, but will also have the opportunity to establish a relationship with the cider makers themselves, who will explain the process of elaboration, the organoleptic qualities of each of the ciders and their possible harmonizations. The Asturian cider makers also have surprises for those who come to the event with innovative formats and cider proposals within the Asturian cider tradition. As a novelty this year, since the event is integrated into AGROPEC, access to the space where the Open Tasting takes place will be free, so that everyone who wants can see the variety of the cider offer.

To taste the ciders there are two options: the usual one of buying a pass to taste all the cider you want -from 11 to 15 and from 17 to 20 hours, with a price of 10 €; or paying each drink at 2 €.

Likewise, there will be the possibility of buying cider directly to the participating cider mills and enjoy an exhibition of PDO cider apple by the Club Sierense de Amigos de la Manzana -CSAM- or visit the exhibitors of some of the members of the European Network of Cities of Apple and Cider -Cider Cities-.On the other hand, during the tasting open to the public there will be talks and guided tastings of 30 to 40 minutes, presenting ciders from Japan, Asturies, Scotland, Euskal Herrria and Czech Republic.

To close the day we will take our international delegation to visit the Llagar de Piñera, where an espicha will be held.
