The National artistic heritage greets the return to the General Board the painting”El Llagar” (The cider mill” by the painter Mariano Moré (1899-1974).
LA SIDRA.- The picture had an important deterioration and the restauration work by Bernardo Díaz Gonzalez, took back its original light and colors, lost over the pass of the years.
The remarkable size of the painting -170 x 222 centimeters- was the reason to make the restoration in the same building, after whihc it is returning to its proper location in the Argüelles hall, besides three other paitings, one by Evaristo Valle other by Nicanor Piñole and a big third one by José Ramón Zaragoza.
This painting is part of the artistic collection of the Palacion since its purchase by the Provincial Government in 1950 and part as well of the artistic heritage of the Asturian Parlament. Unfortunateli, apparently the “Principality” has no budget for restoration for all the paintings that need it, so so far only “El Llager ” and “La plaza d’Europa” by Piñole, are the only works in restoration process.
Much less lucky is the painting “Pueblu en fiesta” by Evaristo Valle, so deteriorated that it was not even considered for its restoration.
The figure by Moré will be also recovered along with a biography in which the art historian Juan Carlos Aparicio is working in, edited by the Alvargonzález.
