Santiago Menéndez from L.luarca came to the Asturies’ stand just coming from Rome as Council of the FAO to congratulate the cider makers for their work.
THE CIDER.- This second day of the Hall of Gourmets and the Asturian cider makers expose the best they got, the four of them: Castañón, Cortina, Trabanco and Viuda de Angelón, all of them inside the stand of Asturies. At Cortina Cider the cider pourer Pablo De La Roz offered cider glasses to pleople either familiar with cider or not. Tino Cortina stated that “this is the 18th edition and cider pouring is always gathers attention. We appear a lot in the media due to this and show the cider culture”.
In other of the stands, the one by Castañón Cider, the “Roxmut” or cider vermouth was surprising a lot to those who have tried it. “It’s a pioneer product with good acceptance” said Julián Castañón. They also offer to taste their natural cider and the Val de Boides DOP. Likewise Francisco and Alfredo Ordóñez explained its elaboration process. To be highlighted is that their “Ice diamonds” ice cider had great opinions from visitors and tasters.
