THE CIDER.- Bernhard Scheiblauer is a young cider maker from Southern Austria, in an area characteristic for the abundant presence of fruit trees, especially pear trees. In his family, apart of the pear, there is a well rooted cultural tradition regarcing perry, considered thus to be the “barons of the wort”.
This SISGA 2015 was lucky to have Bernhard and Martina Schuller who besides of getting two SISGA awards, presented their three varieties of perry cider: Exibatur, Preh and Brous Mostbaron. They were ciders that charmed those in the tasting. Bernhard stated that people does not know too much about pery but there is a timid interest towards it. Likewise he thanked the invitation to this V SISGA in where according to this Austrian cider maker, are put together the good environment, the interest for cider tasting and a great geographic location, a “perfect combination” in thoughts of Bernhard.
